18th November 2007 Right so, let's keep you all up to date with our latest recordings... Finished the rework of 'Meet Me On The Way', and 'Her Addiction', both sounding rather great (biased me), very dance, much more synths and layers of nasty sounds. New song 'Do What The Nice Man Says' is almost finished, came together really quickly and the new material is starting to flow out, no stopping us, almost an embarrassment of riches! Next project is to finish 'Complicated', which we have re-recorded most of the vocals, guitars and bass for aswell as giving it a slight re-arrangement. Mr McGinty is currently working on lyrics for yet another newbie, provisionally titled "A New Foe'. Think REM being rugby tackled by New Order and you have a vague idea of where this one will fall... Oh and Ta again to Aidan Lynch and his ICON show for playing 'Want' again on 13th November! Check out his page here. 30th October 2007 Great news in that 'Want' was chosen by Aidan Lynch as his demo of the week on his ICON show on Phantom 105.2. Hopefully this is the start of many accolades and he has played it a few more times since so keep that radio on (as they say) 6th October 2007 Brand new track 'Real World' is a contender for a free download single. Reaction has been amazing, a very soulful scuzzy electro track so listen out for it. Work has also begun on a new version of 'Meet Me On The Way'. Different to the version in the AUDIO section so download the original while you still can. 30th September 2007 Work is now underway on the live set, so watch out.. The songs have been chosen and a lot of the older material will be put on hold, but those that have made it will be completely reworked and given a fresh lease of life. 22th August 2007 Finished 'Want', quite different from our version but sounds great, lots and lots of things going on, even got the vocoders out, too much Kraftwerk influences perhaps! Aiming to put it out with a few new tracks hopefully in December/January. 17th June 2007 It's off to a proper studio time! Yes we have put a few sheckles together and trundled into a proper recording facility to work on a new track 'Want'. So off down to So Co Do with us to work with Mr Dave Christophers (AKA Sunburnt Buddha, or Skippy to those in the know...) Having honed it to a point we wanted to get a differing view on our sound, and hey, no better man than Dave! 12th May 2007 Well Songs From The Ranch have come and gone, and now its time for part two of The Jones Experience. We have had many kind words, suggestions, free pints over the course of the last few months. Taking all that onboard we have started writing brand new material. First few tracks to come on stream are 'Want', 'Complicated', 'Her Addiction' and 'Creature Of Hate'. The direction is much more dance, think LCD Soundsystem meets Gorillaz while being mugged by a dirty punk band... 4th February 2007 After heavy demand, well, a bit actually, we have sourced a most fab guestbook for all those people who insist on leaving witty comments, enjoy... 26th January 2007 We have just uploaded the first four tracks of 'Songs From The Ranch Vol 1'. Included is the most amazing cover artwork, featuring cows who live outside Artane. They happen to be in a band themselves called The Mad Cows. Check out their moo-sic... (sorry) 3rd January 2007 Finishing touches on the 'Songs From The Ranch Vol 1' has been hampered due to Ray's Christmas job. He has now checked into The Priory and is been treated for a chocolate chip cookie and milk addiction. 25th December 2006 Ray has been busy today in Lapland helping Santa Claus in his yearly task. The night is going well, with Mr McGinty primarily brought in to take care of 'biscuit and milk drinking duties' 26th October 2006 Raymondo is making a state visit to New York to win back the respect of 'The Common Man'. Ray will be hoping to buy a few common people on his journey and maybe sell them on eBay on his return. Jarvis Cocker of famed pop combo Palp has promised to purchase twelve, so he can see whatever common people see.... 24th October 2006 Word spread on the interfada that Anto was in charge of running the new caterpillar jones website. Having 'robbed' a deadly new 'puter to do de design on, it is now ready thanks to him threathening the nerdy bloke down the road who helped him finish it (under duress of course). |
